When the client came to us, the existing powder room was small and outdated, and a closet and a separate entry area with unused cabinetry were taking up valuable space around it. The goal was to convert that cramped half bath into a spacious, functional three-quarter bathroom, and that meant changing the footprint significantly. We removed the closet, the entry area, and the dividing walls between them, absorbing two previously separate spaces into one. From there, we relocated the plumbing and electrical to support the expanded layout, added a full vanity and a large glass-enclosed corner shower, and updated the finishes throughout, including monochromatic tile and chrome Delta fixtures.
The extensive plumbing and electrical relocations demanded special attention because nearly every fixture changed location, and the new shower and expanded layout required significant reframing and careful planning. From start to finish, the project took five weeks, and we kept the client involved as the new layout came together. The budget for this powder room conversion was approximately $30,000 to $50,000, and the project came in at about $33,000. What started as a small, outdated powder room is now a spacious three-quarter bathroom with a full shower, a larger vanity, and much better use of the available square footage, and the client was exceedingly happy with the transformation.
