When the client came to us, their kitchen felt dark and dated, weighed down by two-tone cabinetry and an older tile backsplash. They wanted a lighter, cleaner, more cohesive look without completely changing the layout, so the goal was to refresh and brighten the existing space rather than start over. We removed the film from the lighter cabinets, refinished and repainted all the cabinetry, and installed new hardware. We also added new countertops, a full-height slab backsplash, under-cabinet lighting, and a waterfall island, which transformed the kitchen without needing a completely new footprint.

Refinishing the existing cabinets required careful preparation to achieve a clean, durable finish, while the waterfall edge and full-height slab backsplash demanded precise fabrication and installation. From start to finish, the project took approximately three weeks, and communication stayed smooth throughout as we coordinated the cabinet refinishing, countertops, lighting, and finish work. The budget for this kitchen refresh was $20,000 to $40,000, and the project came in at about $30,000. The dark, dated kitchen they started with now feels bright, clean, and cohesive, and the client loves how much brighter and cleaner the space feels.
